With the airwaves abuzz regarding Barack Hussein Obama II and his religious affiliation, one can only wonder why. Barack Hussein Obama II is an atheist at best, a heretic, at worst.
Why his Christian beliefs are even in question when he hasn't done anything to counter Americans’ disbelief in his faith or lack thereof, is baffling. As Christians we’re to talk the talk and then walk the walk. Where is evidence that Obama has done either of these? Even when men whom I consider Christian, such as Hugh Hewitt, defend Obama and his supposed beliefs, I can only respectfully disagree and point out where and why they are wrong.
Christianity is other-centered. I think we can all agree, on both sides of the fence, that Obama and his policies are totally the opposite of that philosophy. While one who aspires to be in the public eye must have a certain amount of hubris to succeed, never before has the United States had such a narcissistic, prideful individual as President Obama in the White House. These are certainly not the attributes that Jesus Christ espoused when He walked on the earth - just the opposite, in fact.
I know it is in vogue these days for politician to think they can thank God for their victory on election night and then abandon His commandments the next morning, in essence checking his or her beliefs at the door, all because His way of life has suddenly become inconvenient. This is foolhardy.
But we Christians are to fault. For some reason we give politicians, and only them, a pass at the workplace. We have allowed them to buffalo us into believing that God makes an exemption for them to throw His Word out the window just because of their occupation. In their distorted way of thinking, these individuals have collectively decided that they are smarter than God, and believe his or her judgment is better for the people than the God who created them. However, nowhere in the Bible does it state that politicians do not have to walk the Christian walk once they are elected to office.
This point isn't just aimed at Obama, but to all politicians who say they are Christians, but who have put their personal beliefs ahead of God’s will thinking the “createds’” will is as good for the people, as that of the Creator’s… but what I want to know is who told them to put their will ahead of God’s? No, it’s pride that has gotten in the way of his or hers faith, if they ever had any.
I started formulating these thoughts on the subject when I heard former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo, who professes to be a Catholic, say that that was exactly what he did when he was elected to that office. Again, why? It certainly wasn't discernment from God. Instead, what he should have done the minute he was elected was to get down on his knees and ask God for His wisdom and knowledge and what His purpose is now for his life. I certainly can’t speak for God; however, in His word He reveals that He never would have told Cuomo to abandon his Catholic beliefs to pander to the will of man. The Bible clearly states that the only reason he governor is because God has allowed him to be so and only for that season; therefore he should only do the will of God and not man’s.
For politicians to think they are going to be immune from God’s judgment after they die is hogwash. In Romans 14:11, Christ says that all men will bow down to the Lord and be held accountable for their deeds while on earth. When God asks these men and women to explain their actions and why they've abandoned His word, I’m guessing there will be a lot of “ya gotta be kidding me” in His response.
Again, while I certainly can't speak for God, I would imagine He’s going to be incredulous and will question…why didn’t you just ask for wisdom…you have not because you ask not…you are such a brood of vipers, I put you there to protect the weakest amongst you, yet you did the opposite of what I desire. I put you there to free my people so they could worship Me, not make them dependent on you with all your government programs which enslave them. Did you forget about my directive that ‘those who don't work shouldn't eat?’ You've made them slaves to you and have taken away any self-respect they may have by giving them everything, for nothing.’
More proof that Obama and other likeminded politicians like him are heretics: Can a person who truly says he or she is a Christian, then vote to enact legislation to allow the most barbaric form of abortion - partial birth abortion - as Obama did when he was a state senator in Illinois? And then his first act as president was to strike President's Bush ban on giving federal money to international groups that perform abortions or provide abortion information, known as the “Mexico City Policy.” If ever there were a litmus test for a Christian politician, it's should be his or her stance on abortion.
Obama, being a nonbeliever, also explains how he could sit in Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s church and listen to his hateful sermons all those years. After hearing his first such sermon, I would have confronted the reverend and told him about my misgivings of his talk. A second and I would have found a new church home. But, as was brought up during the election, Obama either believed in what Wright was saying and then threw him under the bus when he became a liability to his campaign, which again is another example of non-Christian belief, or that he only attended the church for street cred, since those on the left said it was because he wasn’t black enough, or because no one in the hood thought he was sincere but was just another disingenuous politician, go figure.
Lastly, as Christians, we should speak kindly to one another, which sets examples to others that we are who we say we are in Christ. We are instructed to keep our tongues from speaking evil and our lips from telling lies! Do I need to bring up Obamacare, the stimulus bills, and the Wall Street and GM bailouts, all which were pushed through Congress on lies, not to mention the whopper that his administration would be the most transparent, ever, oh please.
Obama being a nonbeliever wouldn’t be such a bad thing if only he lead by the golden rule, which many of my friends, who also aren’t believer, live by. But his saying he is a Christian, and then doing just the opposite of what Christ says, is what’s truly disreputable.
There you have it. Either Barack Hussein Obama II is an atheist at best which would explain a lot of what he’s done, or a heretic, a professed believer who maintains religious opinions contrary to those accepted by his or her church or rejects doctrines prescribed by that church, at worst. You decide.
